At the January meeting, chapter member, Charles Eldridge announced that the Rotary Club of Santa Cruz is currently taking applications for its Vocational Scholarship program. This program was established to assist students enrolled in an approved vocational or technical program of study. Scholarship awards are intended to assist students evidencing financial need and the desire to continue education or training. One of the vocations that is supported is aviation.

The monthly WPA meeting is on Wednesday, June 25th. The topic will be: Cross Country Savvy - WVI to SBA and Back.
The first EAA 119 Young Eagles Day of 2014 is Friday May 3rd. The program is open to kids 8-17. Participants will get a free, 20-minute flight along with a commemorative photo and certificate.
The rallies are held at the Watsonville Aviation Education Center (WAEC), sign-up is between 10:00am and 12:30pm on the day of the rally at the airport, we do not have pre-registration. Weather permitting, flying is from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Participants should expect to spend 1-2 hours at the airport during the event. See us on Twitter. Status is provided by searching for #EAA119.
Spring cleaning day for the hanger is April 12th at 9:00 AM. We will have coffee and pastries to inspire everyone to come out early and start working. There will be a master list of things to clean so come and picksomething off the list to do. Invite a friend (member or not) to come and work along with you. The 99’s, WPA’s and CAP have all been invited to come along and help too.
